We sell and install ion exchange water softeners, but lately I have had several customers ask about the Frieje Easywater scale reduction systems for their homes.  From what I've read, they don't claim that it softenes water (due to the minerals still being present) but they do claim similar results like lower soap usage, less spotting and even that it removes existing scale from the pipes.  I've searched the web and found many differing opinions but  I thought I'd ask here.  Has anybody on this site actually used or installed these systems?  Whats the verdict??

Thanks

Dan

Thanks Gary.  Everyone seems to have an opinion on this system but I'm interested in finding someone who has tested one of these systems from this website.  I contacted Rinnai and spoke with an engineer who said they had tried the Easy Water system and had good results.  I asked him what "good results" meant and he stated that there was a noticable reduction in scale formation.  He also stated that it wasn't a scientific test.   I've read the testamonials on various sites but I'm very weary of testamonials.  However, I don't want to dismiss the technology just because of the heresay on the web.  I'm just looking for someone with a proven history on this site who may have tried the unit.

Thanks,

Dan
