Lateral inspection cameraThe Ridgid® SeeSnake microReel L100 and L100C inspection system is a compact, portable drain inspection system for users needing to push cable distances of up to 100 feet in lines from 1 ½” to 4” in diameter. Designed for use in lateral lines that exit the building and connect to septic or sewer lines, as well as in roof stacks, the inspection system features a 100-foot cable and a 25-mm camera head. The push cable is designed to be stiff enough to reach longer distances, yet flexible enough to allow access through bends in the lines. An optional counter provides the ability to count the number of feet and inches the cable is extended. Ridgid, Elyria, OH, 800-769-7743, www.ridgid.com
Pipe supportsPipe supports by Reliner® are fully adjustable clamping pipe brackets made of non-corrosive 11 gauge 304 stainless. They securely attach pipes to manhole walls and other surfaces with no protruding hardware and are adjustable to fit irregular surfaces. They are often used with the company’s Inside Drop Bowl to eliminate outside drops in sanitary sewers or stormwater drops. The clamps attach to the structure wall with 3/8” stainless steel bolts in non-corrosive shields. A wide range of clamp sizes are in stock: 1.5” – 30” for SDR 35, Schedule 40, C900, CIOD, HDPE, DN, etc., along with custom clamps. Reliner®/ Duran Inc., Lyme, CT, 800-508-6001, www.reliner.com
Joint restraintsSmith-Blair has announced the addition of the Pipe-Lock to its Joint Restraint product line. The fabricated steel sleeve restraint coupling can be used to connect and restrain plain end pipe to plain end pipe. Its restrained joint requires no other method of restraining the pipe. It is available in straight, transition and reducing couplings in sizes 3”-36” for PVC and 3”-48” for ductile iron. Smith-Blair, Texarkana, AR, 800-643-9705, www.smith-blair.com
PVC sewer pipeCertainTeed has expanded its CertaFlo™ GreenLine PVC Sewer Pipe line to include larger diameters. The pipe is now available in diameters ranging from 4” to 12”. The high-impact polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe features the company’s Certa-Lok™ Integral Bell restrained joint system. It is available in 10- and 20-foot lengths for ease of use in trenchless applications, such as directional drilling and pipebursting. The shorter lengths facilitate rapid assembly and allow the use of smaller and more economical construction pit sizes. The pipe’s code-approved light-green color makes camera inspection of sewers easier. CertainTeed Corp., Valley Forge, PA, 866-284-7473, www.certainteed.com
Fiberglass reinforced pipe
Flowtite® fiberglass reinforced pressure pipe offers a smooth internal surface with improved hydraulic characteristics. The filament wound fibers used in the continuous advancing manufacturing process provide a true pressure pipe design with superior hoop strength. This process also allows the production of custom length pipe to reduce transportation and installation costs. The pipe is available in diameters up to 156”, and pressure ranges up to 250 psi (higher pressures in certain diameters). The pipe is not affected by UV exposure and demonstrates minimal thermal expansion/contraction. U.S. Composite Pipe South, LLC, Zachary, LA, 225-658-6166, www.uscpsouth.com
Pipe burstingFacilities can burst and replace water and sewer pipes with the Grundoburst static pipe bursting system from TT Technologies. The system can pull in a variety of replacement pipe including PVC, DIP, ABS, cast iron, fusion welded HDPE and VCP jacking pipe. Pulled by a hydraulic bursting unit, the cutter head’s special cutting wheels split the host pipe. Six models are available for bursting 2” through 54” pipes and larger. TT Technologies, Aurora, IL, 630-851-8200, www.tttechnologies.com
Pipe mapping system
The Smart Probe™ from Geospatial Corp. is an autonomous mapping system that can determine, in 3D, the location of any utility pipe with internal diameters ranging from 1.5” to 60”. Traveling through a pipeline at up to six feet per second, the probe records 800 angular and linear velocity changes per second along the x, y and z axes. The data acquired by the probe can be stored on a PC or viewed and evaluated in the field, or can be transferred via the Internet for evaluation by anyone, or stored and entered into a GIS/CAD database for future reference. The probe can be used for water pipelines, gravity sewers, pressure sewers, conduits, and most industrial pipelines. Geospatial Corp., 724-353-3400, www.geospatialcorporation.com
Corrugated PE pipeJM Eagle had introduced the Eagle Corr PE (Dual Wall) pipe. Combining a corrugated exterior and a smooth interior for maximum hydraulic efficiency in a high-density polyethylene pipe, it can be used in a variety of gravity flow applications and is especially suited for storm sewer systems. The pipe has a high strength-to-weight ratio, is very flexible and weighs less than traditional products. It can support a load rating of H-25 – with a minimum cover of only 1 foot – but with a conduit design that’s also flexible enough to allow for cover heights in excess of 100 feet. JM Eagle, Los Angeles, CA, www.jmeagle.com
Casing end seal
PSI-Pipeline Seal & Insulator has introduced the Model R Casing End Seal, for sealing the ends of casedThe robotic RedZone Solo pipe inspection system does not require on-site trucks, generators, or personnel -- resulting in increased safety, emissions reductions, elimination of easement access challenges, and minimal public disruption. One person can operate four robots after a day’s training, with significant increases in throughput compared to conventional CCTV. Expansion jointsThe Force Balanced Flex-Tend® Flexible Expansion Joint from EBAA Iron can accommodate pressure-induced thrust forces. It uses an additional water chamber piston that acts in the equal and opposite direction of the imparting thrust and neutralizes the thrust forces. This allows designers to use flexible expansion joints in applications where thrust blocks or other force-restricting devices are not applicable. Force balanced joints also protect pipelines that serve structures from shear. EBAA Iron Inc., Eastland, TX, 800-433-1716 , www.ebaa.com
