The HACH LDO™ dissolved oxygen probe is a revolutionary breakthrough in the measurement of dissolved oxygen (DO) in the wastewater treatment plant process. By applying completely new technology to the measurement of DO, the company has virtually eliminated problems inherent to older DO measurement technologies. The new DO probe uses no anodes, cathodes or electrolyte solutions, which suffer from high failure rates and break down over time.

The U.S.-based Philips Lighting Company of Royal Philips Electronics has introduced new low-pressure, mercury-vapor UV T5 lamps featuring low-mercury ALTO® technology. The new germicidal lamp combines the benefits of UV technology, which emits UVC energy to disinfect water, with low mercury. As one of the lowest mercury germicidal lamps on the market, the T5 is the first UV lamp to pass the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) test for non-hazardous waste. The ALTO-enabled lamps are five feet in length with an average rated life of more than 9,000 hours and 85 percent UV maintenance for consistent UV output over time.

ITT A-C Pump (formerly Allis Chalmers Pump) has recently introduced a complete series of new vertical turbine pumps. Designated the M Series, the pumps are designed for a wide range of water/wastewater applications, including raw water intake, deep well, pressure boosting, filter backwash, transfer, as well as final effluent. While all of the series are vertical turbine pumps, the MVC is a can-type and the MVS is a submersible model. The MVC and MVT models have capacities to 65,000 gpm and heads to 3500 feet. The MVS has capacities to 4000 gpm and heads to 1400 ft.

The new TF-1 Curved Bill Tideflex® Check Valve, offered by Red Valve, is designed to enhance sealing, especially in low-lying areas with little backpressure. The TF-1 design requires less bottom clearance and can hold greater water weight than the TF-2. The valve is constructed entirely of rubber, making it virtually immune to rust, corrosion and weathering. The curved bill offers increased flexibility to better seal around entrapped debris, and the headloss of the valve remains exceptionally low. Sizes are available to 96".

The Aegis Shelter™ fiberglass building line is light weight, strong and corrosion resistant. Their shock resistant, non-conductive construction consists of a fiberglass composite "sandwich" of internal and external sheets of fiberglass laminated to an insulation core. Polyisocyanurate foam insulation is used between the laminates, with a colored UV resistant gel coated exterior surface and a reflective white gel coat finish on the inside. These weather tight enclosures are designed to house mechanical equipment and/or supplies such as: chlorination equipment, chemicals, power and generation equipment, pumps, monitoring equipment and a multitude of other systems and inventory.
George Fischer, Inc. has introduced the new light-weight V-Flange Ring, which features a patent pending V-shaped groove in the inner diameter. The new V-design ensures that force is distributed evenly on the flange adapter, providing superior connection strength and durability. The flange ring is made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene PP-H (polypropylene homopolymer) and is ideally suited for the conveyance of aggressive media. The all-plastic design weighs one-third less than flange ring counterparts built with steel cores.
