Accurate machine adjustment is an essential element of any alignment process. Lawton Precut Shims, available from Ludeca, eliminate material waste, time consuming hand-cutting, de-burring and for heavy gauge shims the need for torch cutting and machining. Shims are made of stainless steel 304 full hard material protected against rust and deformation. Different shim sizes fit motors and generators over 1,000 HP. All shims are marked with thickness and size to facilitate identification and re-use. Ludeca Inc., Doral, FL, 305-591-8935, www.ludeca.com/shims

Gauges

Ashcroft® Plus!™ Performance pressure gauges eliminate pointer flutter in the presence of pump pulsation and high vibration. As a lower priced alternative to liquid-filled gauges, this smartly engineered internal feature also inhibits movement wear which greatly extends the life of the gauge. The Plus! performance option is available on a variety of the company’s pressure gauges, in a broad choice of service-types, sizes and configurations. Ashcroft, 800-328-8258, www.ashcroft.com

Flow meter

Sierra Instruments has introduced the next generation Innova-Sonic® 210i, an updated universal transit-time flow meter for liquid flow measurement applications. The meter features a high-powered ultrasonic pulse with improved digital signal processing, thereby enabling the unit to use just one set of transducers over a wide range of pipe sizes. The 210i also includes a new user-friendly tactile pushbutton interface with a large digital display that significantly simplifies set-up and data collection. Solenoid valve

Parker Fluid Control Division has introduced the High Flow direct mount NAMUR solenoid valve. The High Flow product line is suited for general-purpose valve actuator applications including water and sewage, pulp and paper, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, powder-dosing machines, powder transportation, process industry, and twin-tower air dryers. Compact in its design, the valves feature a NAMUR mounting pattern and flow rates from 1.2 to 3.0 Cv. Parker Fluid Control, New Britain, CT, 800-825-8305, www.parkerfluidcontrol.com

Ball valves

Hayward Flow Control has launched a new design large diameter TB Series True Union Ball Valve with actuation ready features. The new design incorporates an actuation mounting pad per ISO5211 and an integral panel mount foot pad. Sizes range from 2 1/2” (DN63) to 6” (DN150). Available materials include PVC and CPVC. The valves feature a full port design and are available with FPM or EPDM seals and reversible PTFE seats. The valves have a heavy wall thermoplastic construction that stands up to the most aggressive of applications. Hayward Flow Control, 888-429-4635, www.haywardflowcontrol.com

Water well screens

Rod base water well screens from Delta Screens are fully tested to meet or exceed the ISO 17824 standard for burst and collapse, and engineered to withstand the rigorous working conditions of downhole operations. The screens are available in 304 or 316 stainless steel and diameters ranging from 1 1/4” to 20”. Offering precision manufacturing and welding processes, Delta is ISO 2001 compliant and provides complete QA documentation, manufacturing traceability reports, and in-process inspection reports immediately upon completion. Portable pumps

The new Thompson Pump Compact pump series is 35% smaller and 20% lighter than the company’s JSC series. Available in the most common diesel-drive portable pump sizes of 4” and 6”, the Compact series offers an economical alternative to similar sized portable pumps – a significant savings compared to standard 4” and 6” compressor-assisted pumps. Reliability is increased by the removal of several redundant parts that are no longer needed with the latest diesel engines. Thompson Pump, Port Orange, FL, 800-767-7310, www.thompsonpump.com

Fluorometer

Walchem has added Turner Designs’ Little Dipper to its product line. The single channel, light industrial fluorometer installs directly into process streams. It provides an analog signal output proportional to the concentration of the fluorophore being measured. The meter is a rugged, 24/7 sampling device that requires minimal maintenance. It can be used with data collection systems such as the WebMasterONE to monitor and control the level of treatment chemicals for cooling tower and boiler applications. Walchem, Holliston, MA, 508-429-1110, www.walchem.com

Wastewater evaporators

Dust Control Technology has introduced a new product line of high-efficiency industrial wastewater evaporators and services, initially targeted to mining, oil/gas (including coal bed methane) and water treatment applications. The company has specialized in atomization equipment since its inception, and the new product family is considered a natural extension of the firm’s existing expertise. In addition to evaporation equipment, which will be marketed under the DriBoss® trade name, the company will supply ancillary components such as pumps, valves, controls, sensors and automation -- all designed to withstand caustic and corrosive environments.
