Biochemistry analyzers

In biotech applications and synthetic biology platforms, such as converting cane sugar into hydrocarbon fuel, there is critical timing that must be achieved during the conversion process. And similarly, such is the case with winemaking --the timing and balance of the secondary fermentation process is critical. Xylem’s YSI brand of biochemistry analyzers provides a simple yet critical solution to monitoring the secondary fermentation process in both bioprocessing and life-science applications. Being able to measure and monitor the fermentation process using a customized solution with accurate results in a timely manner (under 1 minute) is necessary and critical, and it is achieved by the convenient monitoring methods of the 2900 and 2950 biochemistry analyzers.

Toxic gas detector

The TS4000H Intelligent Toxic Gas Detector from General Monitors offers many valuable features including event logging, a clearly visible LED and an indicator for remaining sensor life. It is compatible with the HART communications protocol for uniform and consistent communication without disturbing the integrity of the 4-20 mA analog signal and is also available in a Modbus configuration and with three 8A relays. All of the electronics are contained within an explosion-proof housing so that sensor information can be processed at the sensor site. The TS4000H monitors a variety of toxic gases like ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, hydrogen, nitrogen dioxide, and oxygen deficiency.

Membrane bioreactor

The Smith & Loveless pre-engineered TITAN MBR delivers the highest quality wastewater effluent for flows up to 3 MGD per tank. For industrial processes, treated water can be reused around the facility, saving millions of gallons of water usage and related expense. Submerged in the aeration section of the TITAN MBR, the S&L Flat-Plate membrane maintains high permeability and flux rates even at peak-day rates. These membranes experience less wear and tear than hollow-fiber types and can easily be cleaned in place. TITAN MBR systems come in standard and custom designs and result in smaller footprints than conventional systems.

Pressure switch

A tough operating environment is no match for Ashcroft’s A Series pressure switch. All 316 stainless steel construction, a weatherproof IP67 enclosure and an operating temp from -40°C to +100°C (-40°F to +212°F) make this compact switch the ideal choice for a wide variety of industrial and OEM installations.

Chemistry modules

Analytical Technology’s gas phase chemistry modules are online monitoring systems that utilize air-stripping methodology. This analytical method is designed for sample streams that are highly contaminated with solids or biological activity. Chemistry modules for non-oxidizing chemicals use pH adjustment of the sample prior to measurement. By using air-stripping technology, the sensor is removed from the liquid phase, thereby preventing contaminants from fouling the sensor. The technology requires less system maintenance, lowering system-operating cost.
