Sulzer launches summer intern program

Sulzer created a 12-week program to help engineering interns receive a productive experience while allowing the company to better identify the most promising students who could add value to the business long-term. Sulzer promoted the program at career fairs and invited some to attend an Intern Day at the company, during which they were placed in different departments throughout Sulzer’s turbomachinery, electromechanical and pumps products lines. Then, each intern starts their internship by working on the shop floor to gain hands-on experience. This is then applied to a project that requires them to use their engineering knowledge while developing their commercial understanding. At the end of the program, each intern makes a presentation to senior and departmental managers. The summer intern program will be running on a regular basis, offering students the chance to develop commercial experience within an engineering environment.
