Orange shoes show way to water treatment efficiency at WEFTEC 2023

Aug. 7, 2023
HRS staff will walk attendees through various heat exchanger options.

Heat exchangers have an important role to play in water and wastewater treatment, but it is important to choose the right technologies to maximize both process and energy efficiency. Helping WEFTEC visitors to navigate the various heat exchanger options on the market will be HRS Heat Exchangers, whose team will be easy to spot on Stand 440 thanks to their bright orange shoes.

The basic considerations include factors such as the physical space available, the available temperature of the product and process materials and the required temperatures after processing, acceptable pressure drop, and the service materials being employed.

Other considerations which are particularly relevant to wastewater and sludges include the physical nature of the material and the potential for fouling in the heat exchanger, ease of maintenance and the ability to operate reliably for long periods of time. Finally general considerations include energy efficiency, capital and operating costs are also crucial to the final choice of heat exchanger. The total cost of ownership should be considered, as units that are cheap to purchase often have higher running costs or lower operational efficiencies.

HRS Heat Exchangers produce a wide range of corrugated tube and scraped surface heat exchangers for the water and environment sectors. Our corrugated tube technology, as found in the HRS DTI Series, improves energy efficiency and allows exceptional heat transfer in a smaller package. For more challenging materials the patented Unicus Series of reciprocating scraped surface heat exchangers, which are ideal for applications with high fouling potential, such as evaporation.

Over the last two years the HRS Heat Exchangers team have attended a number of trade shows around the world, often meeting new and existing clients for the first time since the pandemic. Throughout this time the team have worn distinctive orange trainers, making them instantly recognizable not only on the stand, but also when out and about at the shows.

To learn more about our range of heat exchangers and systems for water and wastewater treatment, visit HRS Heat Exchangers on Stand 440 at WEFTEC 2023 on 2-4 October at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois – or simply look for the people wearing orange shoes.
