NEW ORLEANS — The National Biosolids Partnership (NBP) honored three biosolids management organizations with the 10 Years Platinum Award at WEFTEC® 2014, according to a press release.
Representing leaders in the industry for continuous improvement and best management practices in biosolids management, the three organizations include: The Orange County Sanitation District, the City of Los Angeles and the DC Water of Washington, D.C., stated the release.
The release reported that NBP, with support from EPA, is operated by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) in collaboration with the National Association of Clean Water Agencies as well as local and regional biosolids management organizations across the U.S. and Canada.
“These awards are an incredible achievement representing a great deal of hard work and commitment,” said Lisa McFadden, senior program manager of WEF’s Water, Science and Engineering Center.
The NBP serves as the information clearinghouse on effective biosolids practices and offers an EMS-based certification program, noted the release.
