ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A corroded 14-inch sewer pipe gave way causing an estimated 13,860 gallons of wastewater to spill into Weems Creek in Annapolis, Md., according to Capital Gazette.
Public Works spokesman Matt Diehl said crews were able to stop the leak, which occurred on the morning of April 10.
Crews responded at 8 a.m. and were able to fix the pipe by noon, noted the article.
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health and the Maryland Department of the Environment were notified.
Diehl said residents will not be advised to avoid contact with Weems Creek.
