Phoenix Contact now offers PSR safety relay modules specially designed for process applications with optimized startup behavior approved to SIL3 / IEC 61508. Until now, conventional safety relay modules have had a very high startup current that the control system interprets as a short circuit. The PSR modules provide two safely isolated redundant normally open contacts and one normally closed contact that can switch up to 250 vAC/6A in a 22.5 mm housing. These compact safety relays are used to electrically isolate field applications from the control system or to adjust the voltage or power. In addition to being used in safety-oriented control systems, these relays form an integral part of the safety chain for electrical and electronic applications in process technology and mechanical engineering.

Pressure transmitter

Viatran has launched the WW517 submersible pressure transducer for wastewater applications. The unit is a 316L liquid level transmitter with a 3" diameter opened faced Teflon coated sensor. It is designed for instances where the media is "sludgy." It features all welded transmitter construction and ranges down to 27" WC. The transmitter can be calibrated remotely using the optional HART protocol. The all-welded sensor design eliminates the need for an O-Ring seal, thereby eliminating potential leak paths.
