Nov. 3, 2015 -- The winners of the 2015 Aquatech Innovation Award were recently announced at the opening ceremony of Aquatech Amsterdam 2015, taking place Nov. 3-6 at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The winning entry -- the DyVaR process of Dutch company Salttech BV -- is an innovative technology able to treat highly saline wastewaters and reclaim almost every drop of water at the same time. Further, it is relevant to the oil and gas industry and provides a zero-liquid-discharge option.
Aquatech's opening ceremony featured prominent international guests and keynote speakers, including Karmenu Vella, European Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries; and Melanie Schultz van Haegen, Minister Infrastructure and the Environment, Government of the Netherlands.

AQS-SYS, Aquarius Spectrum Ltd. -- an automated system for detecting when leaks develop in supply networks from Israeli company Aquarius Spectrum
- Category Winner: Water Supply/Water Treatment
MPC-Buoy: Monitor, Predict & Control Algal Blooms by LG Sonic BV -- an ultrasonic system for treating algal blooms from Dutch company LG Sonic
