The “GNUF” is a custom-designed device made up of a series of tubes, motors and membrane filters that reduce the overall total dissolved solids (TDS), allowing for maximum water reuse. |
Using a combination of specially constructed filters and specified processes, the A Brite solution is inserted into the manufacturing process. By recycling water through this system, initial water cost is reduced and the cost of wastewater is also reduced.
“An additional benefit of this filtration solution is that by more efficiently handling water volumes,” Coward said, “the manufacturing lines run at more efficient rates and product quality becomes more consistent.”
The system comprises a series of filter tubes and power supplies affectionately called the “GNUF,” which stands for giant nano-ultrafilter. The custom-designed device is made up of a series of tubes, motors and membrane filters that reduce the overall total dissolved solids (TDS). By reducing the TDS, the bulk of the water can be reused and the amount of wastewater generated is significantly lowered.
“Most everyone wants to have more water in their processes. But to be environmentally conscious while keeping things profitable, they usually cut back on their water use,” said Coward. “Our client now has more water at the appropriate quantities at their disposal for their manufacturing plant.”
