DENVER — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is accepting public comments on revisions to two standards, according to a press release.
The public can shared its thoughts on the changes until Sept. 21, stated the release.
Revisions have been proposed to ANSI/AWWA C904-16, Standards for Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX) Pressure Tubing, 1/2 In. (13 mm) Through 3 In. (76 mm) for Water Service standard, noted the release.
"This standard describes Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX) pressure tubing made from material having a standard PEX material designation code of PEX 1306, or higher, according to ASTM[1] F876, and intended for use as underground potable water, reclaimed water, and wastewater service lines in sizes ½ in. (13 mm) through 3 in. (76 mm) that conform to a standard dimension ratio of SDR9," stated the release.

The standard regarding ANSI/AWWA D107-16, Composite Elevated Tanks for Water Storage also has proposed changes, shared the release. The standard relates to "composite elevated tanks that use a welded steel tank for watertight containment and a single pedestal concrete support structure." Modifications include the reorganization of some information and the definition of maximum considered earthquake to conform to the latest ASCE 7.
