Polyethylene Encasement (Polywrap) protects ductile iron pipe, valves, and fittings from corrosion.

Polyethylene Encasement (Polywrap) protects ductile iron pipe, valves, and fittings from corrosion. Protection is achieved by creating a barrier between the corrosive solid and the pipe. The wrap also has a high dielectric strength, making it ideal for protection against stray currents in the ground that also may contribute to premature corrosion. Polywrap is easily installed by the contractor hired to lay the pipe and requires no special training to install and no ongoing maintenance like other corrosion protection methods. Quality of the wrap is strictly maintained by the ANSI/AWWA C105/A21.5 standard.
